We invite you to browse through our site to find out more about ADAND and how membership in our association can benefit you.

Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.), an influential member of the Senate Banking Committee, met last week with board members from the Automobile Dealers Association of North Dakota. Sen. Heitkamp also invited Richard Cordray, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), to attend the meeting. NADA Director Donovan Bertsch and Matthew Larsgaard (ATAE) helped arrange the meeting in Bismarck, N.D. Many dealers traveled several hours across state for the unique opportunity to meet directly with Sen. Heitkamp and Director Cordray to discuss S. 2663, the "Reforming CFPB Indirect Auto Financing Guidance Act," and deliver the message: "The ability of dealers to discount credit in the showroom is vitally important to our rural customers." Hunger in our North Dakota communities is more prevalent than many of us are aware. It is an often unseen and silent thief of health, potential, and dignity in our children, seniors, and those who face a myriad of life’s challenges every day. As a cornerstone of your community, your dealership can play a crucial role in the fight against hunger in North Dakota. Please accept the ADAND Board of Directors’ invitation to participate in our association’s Million Meals Drive campaign, along with our statewide partner, Great Plains Food Bank. The Drive will run throughout the summer, so THERE'S STILL TIME TO JUMP IN! Together, dealers are working toward a goal of $250,000 - the equivalent of 1,000,000 meals! To learn more and get the latest updates, click HERE. Thank you, ADAND members, for your important role in the fight to end hunger throughout our state!

With the updates to the White Collar Exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) scheduled to go into effect on December 1, 2016, this is an ideal time for dealers to review their current workforce classifications and ensure compliance. In order to start this process, dealerships should gather existing job descriptions and ensure that they are (1) up to date and (2) accurately describe the duties performed by employees in each position, and then identify which dealership positions have been treated as “exempt” from one or more requirements under the FLSA.
